Graduates of Formula Gulf 1000

Formula Gulf 1000 is proving to be a viable training ground for young race drivers to springboard their career to the next level:

Weiron Tan - Formula 3 ATS (Fortec)

Weiron Tan, who was part of the Caterham F1 Development program chose to take part in season 2 of Formula Gulf to help prepare him for his 2013 season on Formula Renault in the UK. After wining the last 6 races in Formula Renault he has moved onto ATS Formula 3, where he won the last 2 rounds. Weiron is currently racing in the USA for Andretti AutoSport competing and winning in the Pro Mazda Series.

Joe Ghanem – Formula Renault UK (M-Tech)JG Graduates of Formula Gulf 1000

Joe was the first Champion of Formula Gulf 1000. He is now in his second season of Formula Renault in the UK. This season has got off to a good start for Joe, already qualifying in the top 3 and racing for podium positions. Joe had previously competed un UK F3 and UK Formula Renault. But with a couple of years out to race GT cars (where he won the UAE GTC championship with GulfSport Racing) he chose to come and race in Formula Gulf for a season to get back on track and further improve his skills ready for Formula Renault in the UK.

Natasha Seatter – Porsche Carrera Cup Asia & GT Asia Series

aston 300x200 Graduates of Formula Gulf 1000Natasha completed 2 seasons in Formula Gulf, traveling from Malaysia for each event. She was a dominant force in her second season and took the GulfSport Trophy. Hot on the heels of her success with Formula Gulf she was offered a drive in the Porsche Asia Cup. This serves that a good grounding in a development series like Formula Gulf does not just take you down a route of Single Seaters, but also gives you the driving skill to move to GT. She recently also competed in an Aston Martin GT3 V12 in the GT Asia Series.

Rahul Mayer – BRDC Formula 4 (HillSpeed)Rahul during race 2 leading Daniel Headlam 04f1 Graduates of Formula Gulf 1000

Rahul came to Formula Gulf from Karting, taking part in the 2012 sumer training held in Malaysia he then came to the UAE to race. He improved hugely over the one season that he raced (2 race wins and numerous podiums). In 2013 he moved to the new BRDC F4 series in the UK. He has a unique advantage over the other F4 drivers in that the Formula Gulf FG11 and new F4 car utilise the same chassis. He has already shown promise at the first round in the UK with 2 points scoring races.

Mohammed Al Mutawaa – Team Citroen Middle East Rally Championship (Abu Dhabi Racing)426507 598937803468308 1547215690 n Graduates of Formula Gulf 1000

Mohammed was supported by Yas Marina Circuit for the 2012/13 season. Learning and becoming faster through the year Mohammed took his maiden win at the last race of that season. While competing in Formula Gulf he was selected for the FIA Young Driver Institute to represent the Middle East region, he was also picked up by RedBull Middle East as a sponsored athlete. At the end of the season he was selected to drive for the Abu Dhabi sponsored Citroen Rally team.

GulfSport has also helped secure sponsorship for some of its drivers e.g. The Qassemi Group (Joe Ghanem), SkyDive Dubai (Haytham Sultan) and Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management (Mohd Al Mutawaa and Saeed Bintouq).
